Due to thickness and slope of the roof, joining the geometry will not resolve the extending part of the roof for your situation. Using void cut note: create the void and cut with floor geometry before finishing in-place editor mode.

WebSep 21, 2016 · Once you're inside the sketch and select the roof line to slope, it resets to 0'-0" - so you have to set the level and offset from base a second time. Strange, I know, but it works.
